WrappedInHim was founded in January 2012 in order for me to raise money to go on a mission trip to the Amazon in Brazil. Successfully, the Lord allowed WrappedInHim to provide many trips to the Amazon. It was life-changing!
Now, in January 2013, WrappedInHim is ready to see what the Lord has planned this year for our high school mission trip to New York! My sister will be going and both my parents would like to also attend, Lord willing !

This mission trip is called the “Empire Project 2013- New York, NY”

October 26 & 27

Day 4 my group visited the Ronald McDonald House of New Orleans. We were expected to cook dinner for the 15 families that live there and clean out their toy closet, but while setting up were asked by a mom who lived there if a couple of us could hang out with her 4-year-old daughter, Caroline. Caroline has a brain disease where suddenly her brain stared regressing and the things she knew and had learned began to disappear. When it started, within 4 days her speech was slurred and her parents knew something was wrong. Her ability to go to the bathroom on her own, her pain tolerance, her speech, and her ability to do many other things has now regressed to about the age of a 2 year old. Caroline’s brain will regress for an average of 6 more months (2 more months because it started in March) and then unfortunately will not ever progress and there is no cure. Annmarie, Caroline’s mom, wakes up everyday knowing that her daughter is never going to grow up, and that that “southern old woman” kind of talk that Caroline used to do won’t come back, yet she never loses hope. Annemarie has such a strong faith in the Lord in the middle of this crazy thunderstorm and I strongly believe that is the only thing getting her through it. Caroline and her mom’s story tremendously blessed my friend Jordyn and I and for the time we spent with them. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path’s straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

After returning to the boat for lunch, we went to a small church and ran the clinic which had eyeglasses, sunglasses, dentist… and my group went and worked with the womens ministry by handing out bags of hair accessories, baby clothes, painting nails, cutting and braiding hair, etc.

That night we had an amazing concert! It was so cool to see the Lord move!

and we travled through the night to PARINTINS!!

day 7 (July 11): this day was all assigned to going into classrooms of Parintins!  It was amazing to witness that the kids of Brazil were going through the same things that happen in America. They had time where they could ask us questions about America, and how life was different there, and we really didn’t have much differences!

This night…last concert in Brazil. lots of emotions were happening, crying, happy, laughing, smiling! We gave it all we got, all the energy that was left, we gave it all. It ALL was for the Lord. AMAZING CONCERT.

day 8 (July 12): leisure day. really…we were on the boat the entire day traveling, this time up the river towards Manaus! during this day, we got to hear stories from everyone about the trip, throw soccer balls and balloons with candy in the river, and sleep.

day 9 and 10 (July 13 and 14): travel days! bye Brazil and headed back to USA! these days were bitter sweet, I cried when I got home, I cried days after, but the Lord was truly my Rock during this time.

Anyways, here is day 3, 4, & 5 of our trip (July 7, 8 & 9):

July 7: This was the first day that we were out and about in Brazil. My family group (the group that you are with for the whole trip) got the privilege to go to a village that was right off the water called “Nova Esperanca” which is “New Hope” in English. There we put on a VBS for the children, played soccer (we got really good by the end of the trip, we played soccer 24/7 ), colored pictures, painted nails, and so much more! It was an amazing way to kick off the official first day in Brazil!

That night, we were to preform a HUGE concert for the people of Manaus, Brazil at the “Nova Igreja Batista de Chapada”. When we walked in, all we saw was a large room with a big stage and TONS of people and boy, were we pumped up to get it started. Everyone had so much energy and we couldn’t contain it! By the end of the concert, we all had a smile that went from ear to ear and yes, were still very hyper

 July 8: This day we were on the boat for quite some time, we assembled ministry kits and  planned for VBS most of the day! Yet, an upside was getting to know people better, seeing  the amazing creation that God put together, and lots more! That night, we arrived in  Parintins (pronounced pair of jeans run together:)) to do a concert at “Primeira Igeja  Batista de Parintins”. This concert was so fun with lots of kids running around and the  adults having a blast listen to us sing in a language they didn’t even know!

July 9: Through the night we traveled to Caburi Village, a large village on the river! Here in this village, the family groups split up into their own assignment for the day. The first half of the day, my group did VBS ministry in one of the schools where we put on a play about Daniel and the Lions Den, sand some songs, and then just talked with the kids! While at the school, I gave out WrappedinHim bracelets to the teenage girls that I was talking to! It was SO cool to know that I started this company for Brazil and then get to go give some of the kids that live in Brazil the bracelets! The second half of the day, we did the clinic! Which consisted of women’s ministry, handing out sunglasses, doing eyeglasses tests, mens ministry, playing with kids and giving out baby clothes!!

That night, we did another concert in front of the school that we did VBS for! That concert was so fun to see all the kids that you saw today watch us dance and sing for our Lord! 

Day 1 & 2 (July 5 & 6):

After all the hard work, trainings and rehearsals, we finally were able to board our planes and head off to the place that we all have been dreaming of these past months…BRAZIL! At first I didn’t know what to expect, actually, I don’t think anyone did, but as we said goodbye to our family and friends, the excitement started to build and the dream was about to become a reality.

Our first flight was to Miami and then a 12 hour layover, which no one slept because we were ready to board the next plane to Brazil!! After what felt like days, we were able to take off to Brazil and see the place that we have been preparing for! Once off the 6 hour plane ride and through the airport, we were in Brazil.  

The first view of the boats and the first picture  taken in Manaus, Brazil. Actually seeing the boats in person for the first time was surreal. I was just in awe that we were actually in Brazil. It really didn’t hit me until this point that we were on another hemisphere, another continent proclaiming our Lord, Jesus Christ. The picture above, is the last picture that I took in America, the plane going from Miami to Manaus, Brazil!!

Please join us in Praying for us as we depart tomorrow for Brazil and travel down the Amazon sharing Jesus with people who may have  NEVER heard about the Saving Grace that Jesus gives!  I can not even begin to tell you how excited I am for what God is going to show and teach me while we are there!  We are traveling with about 90 people and will be on two boats…but, here is the boat I will call home.. “Linda Esperanca”!!

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
